It warmed up to 37° and was even slicker than yesterday! I was only about 50 yards from my door when I slipped and fell, it was a quick tuck and roll across the parking lot and somehow I came up on my feet still "running" sort of. I thought about just calling it quits after that, but I haven't missed a thanksgiving morning run since I started running. Slow and easy was the plan for the rest of this one except for a few spots where the pavement was bare. I saw lots of other runners out there earning their sweet potatoes :)

Um, I see no slow and easy in that run anywhere. Glad to hear you have learned how to properly fall and remain uninjured!

Hope Thanksgiving was GREAT!

I was going easy on the ice, and running hard on the bare spots. If I did 1/4 or 1/2 mile splits they would probably be more like 8s and 6s.

This is twice now that I have actually fallen down in 7 years of running and they were both this month. Maybe I should get one of those air-vests :)

great run despite the tuck and roll! I wonder if you neighbors were watching and thought maybe you were practicing for some covert operation! LOL

I was slipping all over the place today, so I just bring my pace into the 10's!!! I have never fallen...GREAT, I typed that "out loud" so now I will.

Glad you did not get hurt, that is what matters.

April - My mother-in-law was joking that it would have been great if one of hte neighbors got it on video :)

Kelli - Just be careful changing direction, that seems to be my "downfall". It's all melted now, but If they forecast anymore snow I'm going to try this super cheap shoe mod:

http://www.skyrunner.com/screwshoe.htm

I also looked up yaktrax and they look cool, but I don't think we get enough snow here to warrant spending that much. I'd just lose them in-between storms.

I have actually heard from some really smart Utah runners that they like the screws in the shoes even better than the YakTrax, so go with the cheaper method!

I am just too lazy for any of that. I choose the treadmill if it is too icy or snowy! WIMPY, I know.

that would have been awesome! You need nosier neighbors!
