5:00am

brrrrrrr! I don't know what the temp was, but most of my fingers went numb about 5 miles in. Other than that it was a pretty good run. I felt a lot better than I did on Monday. I think I'll double up today so I can rest tomorrow before my last long run on Friday. Next week I'm planning to do another double in place of my long run. I'm not sure how that will actually work out since getting in any miles at all will be a challenge while I'm on the road.

A little warmer and a little faster. I didn't run any harder than I did this morning, it just seemed easier. Friday will be a slow and easy run...

you are very consistent both in mile splits and distance. just curious, does this pace feel "hard", "comfortably hard" or "easy" ??

i would guess that it feels rather easy, since you do it consistently every day.

if it DOES feels easy, your marathon pace may be faster than you think. 6:40? 6:30?

From allie on Wed, Apr 14, 2010 at 10:36:58 from 67.177.0.102

alright, i just looked at last week's 20-miler.

my two cents: adjust your MP. just my opinion, though. it's always best to do what you feel comfortable with.

I would say that pace is "comfortably hard". Strangely, a truly easy pace is very uncomfortable to me. I get anxious, impatient and dangerously close to bored. I guess I'm in it for the adrenaline.

yes, i know how that goes. sorry, i don't want to mess up your race strategy. just know that whatever pace you run you are ready! your training has been great. best of luck to you and maybe i will see you there.

Depending on the conditions

From rAtTLeTrAp on Wed, Apr 14, 2010 at 14:17:38 from 75.231.211.246

Depending on the conditions I might try for a 7:15 pace to qualify with the youngsters at 3:10. I don't think I'll push any harder than that though. A BQ at 3:20 would already be quite an accomplishment for me. My fastest marathon so far is 3:47:17.

I'm so envious of your pace for that much running. Is that a sin?

From baldnspicy on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 11:29:34 from 167.164.3.140

Dang! I looked at this when you had only logged the first 10. I find it humorous that you call your paces inconsistent sometimes. For me, as long as I stay within the same minute (8:00 - 8:59.99) I consider myself consistent. LOL

Burt - if it is a sin, I'm guilty as charged. I don't care and I'm not changing. You can't make me! :-)

From rAtTLeTrAp on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 12:13:32 from 75.231.255.232

My pace is usually floats about 30 sec per mile not counting the last couple if I kick at the end. I read somewhere that keeping an even pace is the most efficient way to run long distance. I still have plenty of room for improvement. Call me lazy, but I want to make this marathon as easy as possible :) I'm shooting for slower and more consistent splits on Friday.

LOL! Slow and easy run!
