4:30am

There was a huge windstorm last night that knocked the power out and left the roads littered with branches. The wind was still blowing hard this morning so between that and all the debris on ground, I was moving a little slower than usual. See if you can tell where the driver in an oncoming car blinded me with his high beams just seconds before I tripped over a fallen branch...

I'm guessing mile 4. But that seems like a long time to be down. You can no longer give me a hard time for playing flag football.

CrAzY run, glad you are all right! What is the deal with the weather?? We have wind, but it is still pretty mellow hear. WOW! Glad to hear you have power again and hopefully they get the streets all cleaned up so there will be no more tripping.

We had a huge wind and rain storm last night. We didn't lose power but lots of people did. I ran on the treadmill so I wouldn't do what you did. I'm so very uncoordinated and have no balance. It's a miracle I stay standing at all.

Burt - What does this have to do with your sissy sport? I fell face first on the street. What's more hard core than that?

Kelli - I run this route all the time specifically because it is well lit. I never even considered the possibility of the streetlights being out during a power outage, go figure :) I gave about the same amount of thought to what it would be like showering in the dark when I got home... it was a tough morning to say the least. I did the evening run with a headlamp just in case.

Wes - running on the TM? where's your miles? FWIW, I feel a lot safer running outside in the dark than I do on a TM.

Too bad the head lamp could not work in the shower!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Wed, Nov 17, 2010 at 18:38:41 from 75.196.113.68

Burt - I'll try harder next time :)

Kelli - doh! why didn't I think of that? It is water proof, I could have worn it in the shower.

COOL, mine IS NOT waterproof (I hope it is sweat proof, though) so I better stock some kind of waterproof flashlight or something.

Wind and cars and darkness and trees coming down... Add to those "real" dangers all the imaginary ones I have about darkness and you'll know why I didn't run Tuesday. Survivor points for you! Glad you're ok.
