Here's my first run in about 3 months. Came out to California to visit Callie, my daughter. She is training for the Revel Mt. Charlston Marathon in 3 weeks. I wanted to run with her, even though I haven't run at all in 3 months. I decided to do 2 miles with her and then as we ran changed my mind and went ahead and ran 5. I was surprised I made it 2 miles much less 5 miles. Not sure yet how much I will be running in the near future but will be going on an RV vacation with Callie, her husband Matt, Kirby, our son and his girlfriend and obviously Sarah, my wife in 6 weeks. I would like to be able to run some more with Callie during that vacation but know I need to run some before then to make it fun and not kill me. Callie is trying to qualify for Boston so we can run it in 2018 together. I qualified at the San Antonio R&R back in December. Looking forward to that if it happens!

My heart rate was UGLY hight on this run.

This is some fantastic news! Good luck to Callie!

Great job! I hope you and Callie both get to do Boston 2018. My running buddy used Revel Mt Charleston to BQ last year. It is a super fast course. He had like a 20 minute PR.

Good to hear from you, glad your getting back into the game! IJR - Even though I just barely made the time for a BQ (6 seconds) I will be going to the 2018 Boston Marathon. I was recognized by the BAA a few years back as having run the Boston 10 times or more and all I have to do is get a BQ time and I'm in!!!!

Just get back into your training and the heart rate will settle down.So 2018 will be your 2nd Boston Marathon?

Not the same without you I hope you know that awesome to have you back. Run hard Callie you got the genes :-)

Impressive run after a long layoff! How's the foot?

From I Just Run on Wed, Apr 12, 2017 at 10:40:17 from 107.77.64.119

Rhett, it makes me want to run it just to get a big PR. Maybe l could break 3:00 in that marathon. 😁

Tim, that is really good to hear. I was worried you hadn't made it in. Hopefully I'll see you there in 2018.

Yasir, Callie actually gets her genes from her great grandfather, on the other side of the family. He was a 2 time Olympic Gold Medalist!!!

Russ, the foot is always uncomfortable but not much pain. I was hoping that taking the metal wire out would take that away. I guess its as good as it will ever get now.

Sorry I am late! was out of state - great to see you back running - That would be pretty sweet to run Boston with her in 2018!
