Car read 25' as we pulled in for the race. Practically no wind. Sun came out 15 minutes before the 8:00am race time. I was hoping for sub 7:00 minute average but I haven't done that on a 10K for years.
I took off strong and got a 6:40 for the 1st mile. Good way to start. The course is mostly flat and runs along the Jordan river path for a few miles. Mile 5 has the most incline of any mile. Miles 2-6 ( 6:52, 6:50, 6:55, 7:12, 6:53) 6:53 average!!
They had some food at the end, including cold and hot chocolate. Runtastic did a good job.
The 5K starts at 8:15pm and connects with the 10K route with one mile to go. That's the only downside to this race that I had because the 5K runners were going slower than I was so I had to do a little weaving for the last mile. The half marathoners start at 7:45am and had the same problem connecting up with the slower 10K runners.
