Ran Butterfield canyon. It has about a 2,500 foot elevation change. Good prep for the SGM. It was nice to have the sun up for the last 7 miles of the run. I ran the last downhill mile fast in 5:22.

I ran it about a minute faster than last week. Last week I ran the last down hill mile in 5:10, This week I was hoping to go sub 5 but couldn't pull it off. I got a 5:03.

Couldn't find my desire to push really hard on my fast temple hill run today. I still did it but a little slower than the last few weeks. I need Dave Taylors bat out of hell attitude. How am I suppose to get a sub 7 minute pace marathon at SG if I can hardly push 4 miles faster than that?

| I guess it will be easier to do a tapper week since I just caught a cold. I've had a couple of kids sick with colds the last week or two and I didn't get lucky enough to dodge it. Hopefully, it will be all gone by SGM time.

It rained hard the first two miles then let up for the rest of the run. I ran the lower Butterfield canyon part. Didn't have to do the last three killer uphill miles of Butterfield.
The legs really liked having a low mileage week. They felt great. Did the last three miles in 5:33 mile avg. STG here we come.

Pushed the middle two miles at half marathon pace - 6:45. It was a little harder than I'd hoped. I think my brain has been overwork the last week. I've been working extra hours and had to work both days this weekend. My legs feel great, but my brain needs to recover before I get to SG.
