No run today; I didn't get to it.  Ali and I went to help clean up the big garage where our Ward Halloween party was held and then went to Home Depot to purchase a leaf blower/vacuum.  In anticipation for the snow storm tomorrow I spent literally six hours cleaning up leaves from our yard.  I got on the roof and blew all the leaves off and then cleaned out all the rain gutters (boy did that make a big muddy mess).  Then I sucked up 7 bags of leaves in the leaf vac.  Finally got around to taking a shower at 5 p.m. and realized my arms were completely pumped from carrying that machine and all the heavy leaves around all day.

Snow; only about 9 inches this time.  Aaron talked me into trying six miles with him at the gym and it actually felt pretty good!  Also did the elliptical for 30 minutes.

Awesome six mile run through a sunny snowscape.  I love that they plow the paths here so we can run on them.  There were a few ice patches where I went VERY slowly but for the most part it was dry.  This run put me in SUCH a great mood for some reason.

Wasn't feeling as good today as I was yesterday.  Such is life.

Therapeutic seven miles with music that put me in a good mood.  I love running just for the sake of running. Moving my body to feel my heart beat and muscles work.  My hip is feeling pretty good, still pretty tight and somewhat weak, but its come a long way.  I had a nice long stretch with some core work after the run. I don't know when I'll get the drive to start interval workouts or compete again but its not here yet.

7 miles in 7:27 pace. Fastest run since surgery!  My hip and quads were sore later though.

8 miles!  Left hip felt pretty strong today!!  My right calf was a little tight though.  Did some self massage and calf stretches afterwards.  I'm certain my calves will thank me later once they adjust to my zero drop shoes.  I've been running exclusively in Altras ever since surgery because I feel like they help me be closely tuned in to my form and keep a light foot strike with a fast cadence.  It would be easy to get lazy and sloppy with my form in any of the other many big heeled shoes I have on my shelf, but I'm loving the Altras.  I feel my feet and calves getting stronger and my form feels great!

Very slow run with some walking and stretching mixed in.  My hip was a little sore last night after my yesterday's "long run."

I went to pilates reformer after my run.  I feel like an unbalanced gimp when I go to pilates because my left hip flexor is still very weak and my right scapula angles way out every time I lift my right arm (due to my tricky shoulder and the weird nerve injury I experienced my second day on crutches.)  I'm grateful that the pilates instructor kept helping me figure out how to modify certain movements so I could still get some good stretching and core work in.

My calves were feeling better today but my hip flexor was tight probably from pushing it in pilates yesterday.  Went on a hike with our kids and friends in the gorgeous 60 degree sunshine.

Busy morning cheering for Aaron in his marathon and taking the kids to the Primary program practice.  Crazy wind storm was making me not want to go running outside.  Later in the afternoon I went to the gym and just felt like getting on the elliptical, so I did that for 80 minutes.

My Sister-in-law biked alongside me while ran.  Good company.  She and her family drove here from Dallas and we're following them to Utah tomorrow.  Family Thanksgiving coming our way!

Took the kids and all their cousins to the Woods Cross High School track to run a "Thanksgiving race."  Ali did half a mile, Bre did a mile and a quarter, and Abe did two miles.  Abe was pretty happy with the fact that he ran longer than any of his cousins.  He would have gone even longer but we got kicked off the track and had to go home.  I ran home but wasn't feeling too hot.  Hip pretty tight and weak.

Hip was having tight twinges, so I gave it a rest.  Aaron and I took the older two kids skiing which was fun but also a mental and physical challenge to keep them happy and excited and also help them learn.

Easy six before heading back home to Boulder.  Enjoyed the week of visiting family and giving the kids a chance to bond with their cousins.

Beautiful morning!  Did some weight lifting and core work after my run.  My hammies needed it.

Ran the kids to school and pushed Ali in the jogger for my run. Aaron was at an investor meeting this morning and I didn't have time to hit the gym.

Aaron has been asking me what I want for Christmas and I'm definitely putting these on the list.  Love the new colors! Maybe a little bit of this action too:
