I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59.
Short-Term Running Goals:
I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon.
Long-Term Running Goals:
Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year.
Personal:
I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come.
36 degrees and about 33 degrees real feel. I was hoping it would be about 10 degrees warmer. I ran pretty slowly. 32:03. Pace was 10:33. 10:45 10:44 and 10:13. I definitely feel the elevation here. Greeley was 2000 feet lower last week.
Walked 3 miles because my feet hurt. I got heel blisters because I am used to running in these shoes. I should have just run. It wouldn’t let me post without a number up there but those were walking miles.
