Today I ran 3 miles again. The first mile was easy at a 8:37/pace and after that the pace was 7:37. I really don't understand why if I start out at a 7:35/pace I get winded, but if I work up to it, the pace seems effortless???This has happened to me more than once in a 5k race. And yes, I warmed up before the races.
On the bright side, after a half mile or so, I can now hold a 7:20 - 7:35 pace. I have a 10k coming up in May and I should be able to shatter my time from last year. |
