Took my cousin to hike the backway to the Hollywood sign, but we had to turn back after a mile. It was a steep mile up and a gently sloped mile and 3/4s down. She is now motivated to quit smoking.

Ruck 40-45 lbs in Griffith Park with a hiking group.
Elevation gain 800+.
Stopped several times for the stragglers which sucked. I had worked up a sweat and I was too cold to stand around. I didn't know the route and I have a sense of direction that gets thrown off in a parking lot, so I had no choice but to stand and freeze.
