This was supposed to be a race report, but it ended up a DNF report.

I decided to run the Bone and Back 40 mile Ultra today.  I was doing well until that stupid groin issue I had in Ogden came back with a vengeance.

I was actually in first place overall at the 20-mile turnaround by about 20-30 seconds.  I passed the leader on an uphill at 18.5 and was feeling pretty good.  I stopped for a minute at the aid station and he just kept motoring on.  We had been doing this for several hours, I would stop each 5 miles and he would move ahead.  Then I would catch back up.

I started the 2nd half and the pain started getting worse.  I was still within striking distance of the leader at mile 25, when it got worse.  Even when I walked I was in pain.  I decided the better option would be to pull out of the race when I had an opportunity to make sure I did not make the injury worse.

I made it 30.02 miles.

I need to see a doctor......this is ridiculous.
