7 miles. I feel a little slow, but I am really so happy to be out running. Beautiful morning, with a pretty sunrise tho it was a little cold. I can't believe the temps we've had for April. This is crazy.

I had a dream last night that my Dr. called and said my Iron level was back up. Ha, yeah right. In my dreams.

My iron is in the normal range now after the IV infusion. It just took a few weeks. I'm still trying to get it higher cause runners need more iron, but my insurance won't cover another ifusion because it's in the normal range :/ I feel 100x better though!

I always feel slow these days. Sweet that you did get to go run and enjoy a beautiful morning. :) Keep dreaming, it might come to pass!

Hey Lily whats your iron level at?

When I was a young boy I went through a time when I was always tired. My grandfather thought I had low iron so he made me start taking liquid Geritol. Recently I started taking it agin for the same reason. I'm not sure if it actually helps but what the heck...I'll try anything.:-) My wife laughts and says only old men take liquid Geritol. :-(

Angie its at 44 now. I guess they like it at least 90?

I got an Iron IV at my Natropath's a few weeks ago and I am feeling WAY 100% better. My insurance didn't cover it but it was the best $300 I ever spent. My ferritin was 34 which isn't really that low according to some Docs but from personal experience I know I feel WAY better in the 90s.

Hey Nan I think I may go your route. I totally will pay $300 rt now to get my iron up and feel better. It's at 12 rt now it's been almost four months of me taking iron and its only gone up from 7 to 12 and I feel crappy. Do you know of any natropaths in Utah?

Angie- I just did IV infusion through my family Dr. & with an anemia diagnosis a lot of insurances will cover it!

From AngieB on Fri, Apr 26, 2013 at 19:01:09 from 65.130.84.190

I am going to go to a different dr and get a different opinion the dr I've been seeing thinks I'm ok and shouldn't get a IV and its been frustrating cuz I feel so crappy and know its very low. Carina do you know the level at which it has to be for insurance to pay for it?

From Carina on Fri, Apr 26, 2013 at 19:05:35 from 204.15.86.83

Mine was at 12 and my dr gave me a diagnosis of anemia and my insurance covered it. I don't know if it is more about the number or the diagnosis, but either way I think you should be covered! Definitely go to a different dr. I didn't realize how crappy I was feeling till I started feeling better.

Ok awesome thanks for the info. I think I've got to find the right dr here. I feel that alot of drs just don't know much about how iron and running is so important. Ugh I'm on a high deductible plan and feel like I've totally wasted my time w that dr.
