Went for a walk with my honey and grandson 1.25 miles into the walk my grandson rubbed his eye with a hand that I had just put sun screen on.  His eye turned red and he started to cry.  We had nothing to help him out my husband tried to wipe it out with his T-shirt and that seemed to help a little but he kept crying so I turned around and started running home.  As soon as I started running he stopped crying but I kept running so I could get him home.  When I got home my leg didn't hurt at all. So I did something that may prove to be very dumb, but because I hate to go to the doctor so much and my leg was feeling fine I called and canceled my doctors appointment.  I think it is just shin splints and all the rest I have been giving it has really helped.  I am going to try and run three miles tomorrow and see how it goes.

If it is just shin splints my next question is where do I go from here.  Clearly I can't follow my old training schedule so what do I do?

I hope your right....glad to hear there was no pain while running. Let me know how the 3 miles go.

As for training...I would do what feels good. Don't over do it too early!!!

I was going to wish you luck with the doctor's appointment today (Fri.) and so happy to hear that you don't need it any more! YAY!!! So happy to hear there was no pain during and after the run.

I ditto Kimmy for the training.
