So far no miles. The energizer bunny has actually stopped moving I can barely type this message. I feel drugged. My body has taken a licken and frankly just can't keep on tickin' at the moment. Friday night I worked on pediatrics and took care of three infants that had different "bugs" but the same symptoms (cold/flu like). I had to gown and glove (which I did meticulously) before entering each of their rooms all night long. I was spent after this shift, I could feel the viruses floating in the air, lots of suctioning on the little ones too. Anyway top that off with having run my 15 miler that morning before the shift then returning to level 2 nursery at AFH where a baby started showing the same symptoms that I came on to and the dad walked in with a mask. Great...resistance just being shot at. My own daughter, at the help of grandpa, took her to Artic Circle and let her play on the playset (I don't let my kids do this in outbreak seasons) and her lighter cold has turned into a sess pool of drainage....and coughing. Right now all I feel is INTENSE fatigue like no muscle or tendon wants to move. I think since I didn't get sore from Friday's exhausting run the lactic acid is slowly leaking into my system and tiring me completely out. I rode my bike one mile with my littlest to drop her off at school and was like a drunk.....dizzy and light headed and out of body. So I am done today unless someway naturally I wake the heck up. I probably will call in sick for tonite if nothing changes by ill call time at 1pm. Plan for doing speedwork with Saturdays Five Miler on the Blog.

Sorry to hear you're feeling yucky. I hope you get plenty of rest, fluids today. You work and train so hard that it's not fair to have some stupid virus get you sick. Hope the energizer bunny returns tomorrow. Taper good and smart!

Smooth- Feel guilty calling in sick because I am a fighter but realize the fatigue isn't going anywhere. No running today. Apparently since I just have generalized fatigue I don't have to answer a thousand questions one would have to if they had any "swine flu-like" symptoms....like have I been out of the country? Oh the patient I took care of Saturday night (no gowning, masking) grandparents just flew in last week from Mexico....things that make you go hmmmm. I am not myself worried about getting the swine flu but the world is so I have to be, especially at work.

Darn it! I am SO sorry you are sick! Do you work at Timp? My nephew has been in twice in the last month. 20 months old- Timothy Simonsen. He was there last week Tues-Thurs.

You are SUPER smart to stay home and rest. The only way our body will recover is to take the time off when we feel the NEED. The only thing I like about that exhausted feeling is when you get to lie down and you go out like the dead. The bed feels SO good. The couch with a soft warm blanket feels SO good. Hot tea feels so good. Being sick is CRAPPY, but I have learned to enjoy the few nice things about it, like saying, "I am sick.. go ask Dad!!!", "I am sick, I am going to pick the DVD.", " I Am sick, go get me a treat.", "I am sick.. YOU fix dinner or go get take out!"

this rarely ever happens, but I try to enjoy the down time, so I can get better soon.

You'll be better in no time :)

Thanks gals....I am beginning to feel a smidgin of hope like the exhaustion cloud might lift sometime after a good nights rest. I was pretty hopeless/helpless all day. Your depiction of the good points of being sick gave me a good laugh Marion. "I am sick, you do the dishes. I am sick, go pick up the kids, I am sick, sick sick could you rub my back? Could you just sit there and let me whine at you all day?" My husband is so patient. He definitely gets points in the charitable category.

Ooops Marion, I work at American Fork Hospital and occasionally float to UVRMC, like Friday I worked on Pediatrics there.

You've got to look at the bright side of being sick, or you'll be so sad :(
