I was missing the Riverton Half because my daughters have softball and I am coaching my two youngest girls team and cannot miss.  I made a plan to run out to my sisters and then run with her group that way I would not be tempted to sleep in.

I started at 5:30 and did a good paced warm up for 3.25 miles all up hill.  Ran up 5600 W to the golf course and had a good pace for those miles.  Recovered for .75 and prepared for the 4 tempo miles I was planning.  Started the tempo and my splits were:

7:58 steep down and then back up and then gradual downhill

7:52 flat, slight up hill

7:56 slight up hill and the a short down hill

7:33 flat as a pancake

I am so happy with this part of the work out.  I have a very hard time doing speed work on my own and with a harder warm up I was unsure how I would feel. One mile cool down to my sisters house.  Ave pace for these 9 miles:  8:37

Part II:  Met my sister Andee, and her neighbors and had a fun run with them.  These are the reward for the previous 9 miles.  It was great to meet her friends and she has a great group to run with. I really appreciate them letting me tag along.

Happy Running!
