"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka
"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

10 miles / easy. MFT/LPT - mostly cloudy, temps mid 80's. The cloud cover makes such a huge difference. I was feeling great until about mile 7. I ran the last 2.25 miles barefoot on the grass...which seems a little redundant since the Hattori's are basically like running barefoot but I had developed a hot spot on the inside arch of my right foot, so I shed the shoes and finished the run on the grass. The hot spot can easily be managed and will adapt to the shoe (I'm running sock-less in these shoes). WT 36 miles

11.7 miles / commute run to work. Sun, temp in the high 60's. Run was going okay, then I ran and chatted with another runner around miles 6 through 8. He was keeping a much faster pace than I was but I stayed with him, and then paid dearly for it after we split. It got pretty ugly towards the end. On a normal day I would usually run the extra 3 tenths of a mile to make the run an even 12 miles. Not today. I got to the end of the line and was DONE. WT 54.8 miles
