Russian champion tries Crocs, commits to racing a marathon in them

Nikolay Chavkin in the video below did 3x1000, first two in Adidas carbon-fiber models, the last one in Crocs. Surprised by the result (2:52, 2:52, 2:50) with the fastest interval done in Crocs, he committed to racing a marathon in Crocs if the video gets 42K likes and 195 comments (for 42 km 195 m, the marathon distance). Nikolay's current marathon PR is 2:14:00. The video was created by a Russian sporting goods store chain. Their moto is "more sports - brighter life", which we think is wonderful, and also deserves a Like. If you want to see a fast marathon in Crocs, go to the video and click the Like button. And make sure to share it with your friends.

Cannot recall. Very fallish weather. Unseasonably cool. It would have been a great August and September for marathon training.

Usually September is basically easy for me and is like an extension of summer break but getting paid. A lot more work doing online stuff, but at least I have a lovely home in which to work.

Lunch/PM: 35' @ 142 BPM.

HR elevated, but expected. Very fallish. The kind of weather you'd want for a 20+ miler w/ 10 miles at marathon pace.

My dad's going home tomorrow. Appartently he's more mobile, but is esophagus is the size of a straw, but apparently the goal of where he was was to make him more mobile and apparently and they accomplished that. Not really sure what to do. He's not really helping himself, but also having some confusion and I think he's having trouble. I'm not sure if I should talk to him and try to persaude him a little bit.

2 summers ago I screamed at him about his behavior and said some unkind (but not completely unwarranted) things. I told him if he didn't smarten up I would never come back. That got through to him. He's in a very different state of health, so I am not sure how much he can will/muster himself to get healthy. Pretty tough when you cannot really eat anything.

PM: 1.7-mile walk w/ Megan.

We have moved to the track as out-and-backs are just not possible at this point.
