AM: 9.25 miles. HR 147. Did some strides.

Absolutely gorgeous morning. Cool and sunny. First real-deal AM run in a while. The PF in  my foot has gotten worse. It's been tight for some time. I have been rolling it with a golf ball. Just need to do it more. I'm standing a lot more at work and I think that's the culprit.

PM: 5 miles. HR 140.

I am sure you have read lots of DIY's for PF or spoken to lots of folks about it. So take the following for what it is worth. I think everyone responds differently, depending on their situation and biomechanics.

My solution was multi-pronged. For me it was tightness in the calf and achillies that was pulling at the heel and PF.

1. Ease up on effort and volume for a while - intensity of effort seems to aggravate it. 2. Vary shoes with different drops from run to run. The variations of 0 drop to 10mm drops seems to help. 3. Incorporate self massage - trigger point active release all along the lower leg and "the stick" and 4. Yoga poses for feet and lower legs. 5. Don't stop doing any of those after the PF flare-ups pass - as you may need to keep this as maintenance/prevention for future issues.

Thanks, Bret. I'm not sure what's causing it other than standing on concrete for 8 hours a day. I can't seem to find my Stick, so I've been rolling it, which seemed to help. I'll try the other suggestions. It really hasn't been painful, but I know it can get ugly quickly, so I'm trying to take care of it.

Sorry about the PF issue, good advice from Bret. Keep up the self help efforts and continue to listen to your body and apply the suggestions you have heard.
