I was planning to ride my fat bike on the dirt roads, but rain was supposed to come through and the roads were a bit muddy from some reports.

I haven't done much running lately (1-2 short 30-40' jogs) but my riding hours have increased a good bit over the last few weeks. I've mostly been on my fat bike exploring some new roads where we live (I decided, somewhat recklessly, to buy a fat bike with some money dad had given me and some extra generous birthday money he gave me). It's an amazing machine and I did some snow trail riding this winter and have been mostly on that, exploring dirt roads and trails. I have done one ride on my gravel bike outside (it's been on the trainer since October I think). I did a fair amount of riding since January. The basement setup has been pretty solid and I worked my way through several seasons of American Horror Story.

The boys turn 6 months old tomorrow. They are amazing. Challenging at times but very sweet and really developing their personalities and individual identitites.

My mom and sister are coming at the end of the week. My dad fell a few days ago and broke his hip. He had surgery and they needed to replace his hip replacement but they didn't for some reason. Megan's parents are also struggling with their health. I am not sure about how many classes I will have in the fall, so things have been a little tough lately, but I feel very fortunate for what I have and that the boys are healthy and that I am blessed to able to spend time with them.

Probably going to sneak in some more running/jogging this week as it looks like a good deal of rain and I have a lot of work to do (riding generally requires more time). I'm starting to get a really good sense of the area through my feet and my wheels.

School will be out in about 2 weeks, which will be nice but also nerve wracking. I'm trying to gigify myself, even signing up to be an Instacart shopper. Had to swallow a huge chunk of pride on that one, but it was easy to get hired and I know grocery stores very well. I am currently applying to a select few other jobs to keep my options open.

That more or less covers my blog hiatus . . .

i'm all for gigifying. i spent about two years doing the grocery gig in atlanta to supplement my inconsistent workload. i found it to be pretty relaxing/low stress/engaging, and it's also fun to see the mix of things people buy. decent money and tips.

good luck with everything. hi to the twins.

try a food delivery service instead. i've done doordash on the side occasionally over the past year and it pays way better than you'd think once you get efficient doing it. most orders can get completed in 20 minutes max; with instacart and getting all the items yourself, plus having to check them out, i'm not sure if you could get an order done that fast unless it's 10 items or less, and you're probably getting the same pay for that as you'd get for just dropping off a bad of chipotle to someone's door.

it just sounds like a lot more work for no feasible reason. i know some people who have worked both and they basically preach the same message of instacart being way worse of a job for the same or worse pay

this post is NOT sponsored by doordash lol
