Lincoln Half marathon today - nice to have a big race - 5000 runners. Feels like the world is getting back to normalish. Also great to see a huge number of spectators out and watching the race. Lincoln did not dissapoint. A little warm and more humid than ideal at the start, 63 degrees and strong SSW winds that stayed in our face for quite a big chunk of the race. It seemed like everytime we went downhill the wind was in our face. Made for a really tough run on an already tough course. Splits: 6:01, 5:57, 6:00, 6:07, 5:58, 6:04, 6:05, 6:19, 6:24, 6:03, 6:16, 6:03, 5:47, :48 - 1:19:53. You can see in the splits that I was on a roller coaster the last 5 miles. Fell off in miles 7-9 and thought the 1:20 line passed me by, but somehow found the strength to bust it 3 of the last 4 miles and close with a 5:47. Turning out of the wind and getting it at our back helped, the course also evened out and had some downhills finally. But I dug deep, and I was happy that I didn't quit - even though I felt like I cashed it in on a few different occasions. Offical 5k splits were: 18:49, 18:45, 19:22, 22:57 for last 6k. decent cool down of 1.4 miles and all-in-all a good day
