Short-Term Running Goals:

-Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape.

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :)

6:49 pace, east river flats. Felt some achilles tightness, which surprised me since I thought I had gotten over the worst of the impact from my toe issue.

6:43 pace, Como classic. At long last, I was finally able to run all the way up the soft surface trail again. It was a tiny bit squishy in a few places but other than that was fine.

I didn't work out yesterday because my foot hurt on Monday, but I did work out today because my foot didn't hurt yesterday (it also felt fine today). Windy, rainy only at the beginning and 5 x 3 minutes on, 1 minute off. Only for the first rep do I have any idea of the distance I ran, and for being into the wind, it was better than it could have been given the amount of training I've done this year.

Just under 6 flat pace, Resevoir Woods. This felt like a harder than average long run, and I did run faster than normal on that route if not mistaken- I turned around at 49:40 after completing the whole McCarron's lake loop. I ran hard on all of Roselawn on the way back. Doing more of a "tempo" effort like that on a LR is hard because it's easy to let it just become the long run slog.
