Short-Term Running Goals:

-Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape.

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Felt good. My Achilles felt a lot springier today which is good.

Felt solid. I'm not all the way recovered for sure but I'm getting there. The three miles I checked my pace on were about 6:20 average. That would be really bad on a real recovery day, but I decided that this week I could run a little quicker in tuesday/ Thursday in anticipation of real workouts.

Didnt feel much better today. Moved up to 90 pounds on the eccentric drops but that was hurting a bit.

Made a concerted effort today to keep it to 7 minute pace as I didn't feel great yesterday and I was running on more pavement today. I think I did a pretty good job. I'm not sure how I would have felt bad I run faster, but I was feeling pretty good.

Felt pretty good. I think taking it easy yesterday helped. I had some GI problems near the beginning but thankfully they went away!

Well, you can't win them all. I'm really excited for when I can do competitive workouts other than long runs. I'll try to start that next week. 14 miles on a cold, stormy day. I tried to go out at a much more modest pace this time. 5:50 average, with 5:28s on the way back and 6:12s going out. My hips are feeling the burn right now. That being said, I'm really grateful to have gotten in another week with solid mileage! Still felt the Achilles but as I've seen in the past, it went away toward the end.
