Short-Term Running Goals: -Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.
-Break stroller records?
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home. |

| | Unfortunately, I had to break my pre-conference long run tradition, given that 9 miles does not qualify as a long run. That being said, I did enjoy running to Como park and enjoying the beautiful changing colors on the trees.

| | Wretched night last night, as both I felt sick again (how?) and the toddler was feeling really sick. Yuck. Took me a long time to get up the strength to run. Hopefully I get better so I can have a good birthday run and long run.

| | About 9 miles yesterday at Como Classic. Had a better sleep the night before. Found a new way to upgrade the route.

| | 6:24 pace on the gateway trail (to Stillwater) after temple. Was the hardest 6:24 pace I've done in a long time. It's ok, that's what happens when you get back into it.

| | Approximately 9.25 miles on west river. Nice weather this morning (42 degrees ish), but due to shorter days and colder weather, I think my days of morning runs are numbered.

| | New weather called for a new route. It was snowing this morning! I ran east river road. 6:50 pace was my fastest besides the LR since surgery, but that may have also been because there is no major hill in this run.

| | 33 degrees but I opted for shorts actually. Kind of sad to say it, but I got out late and didn't quite finish the resevoir woods out and back like I wanted to, so obviously I was hustling on my way home. Like, I was pretty much maxing out. At 6:27 pace. Kinda sad. I'm surprised its taking me this long to get back to normal fitness. Oh well.

| | East river flats in 65:30, I think about 7 minute pace. 25 degrees out this morning. I wore a hat and gloves with my long sleeve shirt, but I think in weather like that it might be time to bring out the big guns to be more comfortable.

| | Really warm day today, in the 70s. When I ran on Gatway (left fork) after the temple, it was in the 50s I think. Ran 5:56 pace! It also didn't feel like so much of a chore to finish the run at the end, I wasn't as exhausted even though I continued to bring the mileage up. Maybe my previous long runs are kicking in now for my fitness.
Splits according to the watch: 3:16, 12:35, 6:01, 5:41, 5:40, 5:59, 5:19, 5:22, 6:04, 5:50, 5:52, 6:08, 5:38, 6:08, 2:43.

| | Como classic, approximately 6:47 pace. I think running in the afternoon made it quicker, although I was still sore, I think from sitting in the car immediately after the LR saturday. Had to run in the afternoon today, it was my first time since May doing so from what I remember. Not very sustainable time-wise, but it sure was nice to run in on a rainy fall afternoon.

| | LR on west river road. There was some sort of half marathon that was going to start later, which meant that even for a saturday, the traffic was nonexistent. I was running late again to be home, so it was amazing I got back so quickly and literally never had to stop on the way back. Using the course mile markers, I was able to identify one mile as being apparently 5:22 and thought I was in for a really big day. Turns out I averaged 6:06 which is slower than I thought I was going but on the whole was not a bad effort for 16.14 miles.
