I had a really positive workout tonight, decided to run 10 miles at marathon pace. Warmed up with a half mile at 8 minute pace then started workout at Anderson Junction 1-7:11 slight hill, 2-6:38 downhill and a little fast, 3-6:53 felt relaxed as I ran into Toquerville, 4-6:59 small hill, 5-6:41 steep downhill, 6-7:31 challenging uphill into La Verkin, but it is getting easier everytime I run it, 7-7:05 flat mile through La Verkin, 8-7:22 probably the most difficult mile from bridge into Hurricane, feeling tired at this point, Turn around 9-6:57 slight downhill, 10-6:40 flat and almost finished with workout so I pushed it a little harder. Half mile cool down back to house. Overall, felt good and especially excited when I got on the scale and weighed 150. I was 165 in October when I had my surgery so the pounds are coming off, but still have a ways to go.

Hey Dustin, Great workout. So are you planning on doing the same run next Mon. to see if your times drop at all?

I love the picture. Is that from the st george marathon. I'd like to know more about what is behind that famous d smirk.

Nice picture. Good job on the workout. How do you measure your distances?

From d-enz on Tue, Mar 21, 2006 at 10:58:48

I measured the run yesterday, by running from mile marker to mile marker on the highway north of Toquerville, through La Verkin, toward Hurricane and back into La Verkin. Hope you like the picture I still need to figure out how to change it. I was wanting to put the picture of me getting my massage after the St. George marathon, it is pretty funny. Also, I've got my good friend Matt to reply to a few posts. He is a talented runner, we ran together mainly at Ricks and he later ran for a short time at BYU also. He has a lot of good stories to tell, maybe we can get him on the blog some time.

Dustin - to change the picture, just upload the new one - the old one will be replaced with the new.

Dustin, the pounds are shedding. I am impressed with all the miles your getting in. your deceptively fast man. that is what that smirk is for!

Is it Matt Poulsen by any chance or a different Matt? In any case, let's covert him to the true religion of Fast Running Blog!
