Ran up the backside and down Sunnyside hill to home with  jtshad.  The wind was blowing hard with temps in the high 40's.  It's a steep hill, particularly toward the top. I was slow going up into the wind (about 9:20 pace for 1.5 miles) but made decent times coming down: 6:36, 6:25, 6:36, 6:51, 6:55, 7:14(end of downhill), 7:41, 7:55, 8:30 (.5 mile includes uphill to home).   Jtshad cruised ahead (way ahead) a couple of times and then returned to finish with me.  The legs feel much better than after last weeks downhill run.  Average pace - 7:28.

Great run, you are ready for your first marathon, no doubt! This will be a weird week (nerves, jitters, excitement, etc.) but it will be over on Saturday when you say you are a "marathoner"!

Nice run. You are ready! I was planning on an easy run on Friday and doing Sunnyside again on Saturday, but my lower body was feeling the results of the downhill run last week. My calves were fine, but my quads, gluts, and my troublesome hamstring were not too good.

I was planning a nice easy run last night, but yesterday I rolled my ankle while trying to avoid my 23 month old girl as she darted under my feet while I was coming down some steps with a ladder in my hands. The first thing that came to mind was Ogden. It wasn't a bad sprain, but enough to get me worried. I iced it like crazy last night and hitting the Advil. I won't try a run today, but will go for an easy run tomorrow to see how it feels. I should be fine for Saturday, but I did want to get in a few more good runs this week.

Sorry about the ankle, just take it is easy this week (you can't do anything to really improve things this week) and you will be ready to go on Saturday.

Isn't that typical! Bust your butt for 3 months and then one week before the marathon twist an ankle. I hope it heals up quick. Like jt said, your training is pretty much done now anyway. Give it a couple of days.

I will rest it at least today and maybe even tomorrow. If I feel even the slightest discomfort I won't run during the week. I'll try the elliptical this week. It will help keep the cardio in check, but won't pound the ankle. I have done that machine off and on, so it won't be a shock to the body and I will take it real easy.
