Running Accomplishments:

I started running about ten and a half years ago. I have ran three marathons. SGM in 2005, Ogden in 2006, and SGM 2006. My best time in a marathon is Ut. Valley Marathon 3:59:46. I have ran seven half marathons, some 10k's and 5k"s. My favorite marathon is SGM.I have ran 13 Marathons, will be during my first Ultra in march of 2013, it will be the Antalope Island Buffalo Run, a 50k.

2008 SGM PR 4:02:23 The best is yet to come.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Short term running goal is to increase my four days a week of running to five to six days a week.  Do more speed work this coming year. Bring my times down. I would like to do SGM in 4 hrs or less.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep up with my Brother Clay in a marathon, someday do a sub four hour marathon, and BQ.

Personal:

I have been married for 34Years, and am still madly in love with my wife Wendy. I have four children and six Grand children.

Another SGM has come and gone, this was an awesome marathon and is always so well organized. One of the warmest start's and very hot once the sun came up. But most of my training has been in the afternoon around 4pm, so I think that helped for this years marathon. I stayed hydrated through the whole race, went through about nine gu's. But the heat never really got to me as it did to many other's. I could tell there were alot of runner's struggling with the temps. From about mile 20 on lot's of runner's walking, I stayed with the 4:30:00 pace group until mile 17. I was feeling really good so I picked up the pace and never looked back. No ITB problems this time, it is the firat marathon that this has not been an issue. So I think using the roller over the summer helped and kepted things loose. I felt strong the last 6 miles, passed alot of runners and can't remember being passed from that point on. I have surprised my self this year, did not know if I could do 4 mrarthons in a five month period. But with alot of support from family and friends and some hard work and faith we got through it. So the Grand Slam is off my bucket list, not sure how many marathons I want to do for next year. I do know that at least two I will think about, Utah Valley, and SGM again. Now time for some rest and recovery and get some things off my Honey Do List, that will make Wendy happy, and maybe try a small run this weekend. My mile splits are as follows.

It has been a great year of running for me, had to battle through a few things but hung in there. I did miss my Bother Clay and Son Bryan today, looking forward to running SGM with them 2011. I hope everyone has a great run.

The old legs are still sore from SGM, I was able to tolerate 20 min on the eliptical though. Afterwards I hit the bowflex for 25 min upper body workout and finished with 200 crunches. Rolled both legs with the big blue roller which smarts really nice. May try a short run on sat.

I did a very easy shake out run to see how the legs are feeling after the SGM. The soreness is gone, but they are very tired.

Nice afternoon run today, I did the river bottoms and the new trail up to the golf course. what a wonderful trail, can't wait tell all of them are finished. I am feeling good after the mara thon of a few weeks ago. I am just enjoying the beautifull fall running weather. I did 25 min on the bowflex and 200 crunches.

Another nice afternoon run through the river bottoms. I ran the new trail again, lots of people fishing in the river. One guy was catching some nice browns about 18" to 20" long lokked like loads of fun. Feeling tired today did not sleep will last night. I have had a bit of a cold from the marathon.

Nice run this morn with Wendy in the River Bottoms, we did the new trail. Wedy's first time she liked it alot. Beautiful aea we live in.

Nice run today, I did a golf course loop and then threw in the new trail along the river. The old legs did good today, had lots of energy and felt like kicking it a bit at times. I did some upper body strength training on the bowflex,a finished todays workout with 200 crunches and spent some with my friend the big blue roller. Great workout today.

I did another run througth the river bottoms today, wonderful fall temps med 60's. Just a real peach of a day. I did my 25 min. routine on the bowflex, upper body and 200 crunches. Then hit the roller again.

Today another golf course loop very bonus fall weather, I know it will change for the colder weather any day now. So I will take these bonus days and enjoy. Feeling good though, no diffinate troubles at this point. knock on wood.

Nice long run today, ran out to Little Bro's house and back, nice temps and i made it back just before the rain hit.I feel good it nice to et out and just enjoy the fall morn. lots of runners out. Been a good week of training.

I wanted to do a long run today but time just got away from me and I did notmake it. So todays workput was more on the speed side. I did a olf course loop today and pushed the pace pretty good for this old guy. No I will not post my mile splits as they are secret to only me. Sorry, but a great run non the less.
