Pretty new. Have done some training for specific Army competitions which have got me running a pretty decent amount, but by no means incredible.

Stay healthy this year. Coming off of a bad shin splint which took about 3-4 months to fully recover.
Build back up to 60+ miles a week
Long-Term Running Goals:
Finish a marathon sub 3:00:00
Personal:
A CPT in the US Army stationed at Fort Benning, GA. I've three wonderful kids and the best wife I could ask for. Been away from the running scene for a while, and I sure miss it. Trying to make a comeback!
A good run, trying to figure out why running a little slower makes me feel worse, but picking it up 45 second to a minute faster and I don't feel as bad. Any ideas?

Colby, I have always had the same issue. A couple of reasons; Your bio-mechanics are such that a faster pace is just easier with less time spent on the ground. Another may be some sort of endorphine release at a faster pace? Just some guesses I'm throwing in there. Also, there are some days I just plain feel awkward and sloppy running at a slower pace but I know I have to in order to recover from the speed sessions. That's my two cents, hope it helps.
