Long run down the marathon course. Met Aaron at the finish line at 4:45 and caught a ride up with some people I don't know. I was just happy to snag a freebie and not have to drive back up.

My goals for this morning were. 1- get some faster downhill miles in (how many I wasn't sure), 2- DO NOT OVERDUE IT!!!!!

Got out of the car and started the run with a 6:16 warm up mile. That's how it goes when you run with Aaron. Hit the first 10 miles pretty uptempo and picked Steven up a long the way. After GU'ing up and a potty stop I was ready to do some kind of pick up/ workout/ tempo thing. And at mile 10 we started. Kept a solid push all the way into town to mile 20. Never redlined it. Never felt out of control. Just relaxed, yet dialed in. Splits: 5:09, 5:16, 5:29, 5:25, 5:19, 5:32, 5:30, 5:22, 5:15, 5:22

The first mile might have been fast. But I went out with Aaron up pulling me. I felt pretty good and the pace didn't feel this fast. I would have guested at the time we were only going 5:25 or so. Everything else felt very smooth. Past Winchster through the S's I really just ran EZ as those miles are much faster than my times. Then the last 3 miles through town I did try and hold something harder. Logan ran strong last week on the closing miles and I wanted to do the same. Pretty happy with the finish as I felt great. Not dead, sore or jacked up at all. Jogged .5 cool down and called it a day.

Ended the 20.5 mile run in 1:59:11 or a 5:48 avg.

Pretty happy to have turned the corner after feeling SOOOO worthless earlier this week. Time will tell if I am sore or not next week. But I'm looking on the bright side this time.

Great run. YOu are looking good for STG. Now, avoid the temptation to test your body like that again. Save it for race day.
