DC loop with Logan and Stephen. Blah morning. Legs are still effed up. Like hurting. I'm just trying to keep the mileage up enough to not go into a premature taper. Really actually feel like crap overall. Kind of sick the last few days. No sleep. And quads that are epiclly thrashed. FML.

10.2 miles tonight. DC loop again. Legs felt crusty out of the box but as the run progressed I started to feel better than all week. Still way too much pain for the liking but maybe coming out of the run induced coma.

That was a killer run you did... although I know you are paying the price a little now. If you get the quad soreness to subside, the PHX course shouldn't bring it back. The only downhill parts are so early in the race so you won't be hammering anyways. Even if you don't get any fast running in this week, you'll be alright if you throw in a couple token efforts next week. The marathon is about accumulation over the long haul, and you've had a couple really good months.

Thanks man your words are soothing:). I've found too many ways to skrew a race up before I've even got there...bad track record in that area. But I do feel like I'm due and training has been very solid. So I'll just try to relax about it and like you said get a couple good ones in next week.

If 37 miles in 2 days doesn't cure quad soreness, then pretty much nothing will.

LOL... Fiddy. I know. Sometimes it seems you can just run the soreness out... but this time it's lingering longer.
