6.5 regular morning loop around Green Spring area

6.5 miles workout with Steve at the track

Steve and I decided to do a 400m workout and with the half maratthon we have this weekend we cut it in half. So we did 10 x 400m @ 80 seconds or lower with 200m recovery after each one.

I didn't have a watch so Steve would yell my time as I crossed and then follow with his so it could be a little off on either side.

1. 78 sec - just getting the feel of the workout

2. 77 sec

3. 77 sec -blah

4. 76 sec

5. 76 sec

6. 77 sec -blah

7. 77 sec

8. 75 sec -picked it up a little

9. 79 sec - slowed down to get ready to really push the last one

10. 64 sec - I told Steve we should hit 70 on the last one and he said he'd do 75- so we went and pushed it he ended up way better than goal too at 69 sec.

Good workout even with the strong headwind. I hate doing speed in windy conditions but what can you do. Hope to keep playing with this workout and mold it into the 20 x 400m... we'll see how things go.

Nice workout, I need to get back to doing some speed with you guys, but Tuesday nights just don't work with my schedule. I didn't feel that great yesterday and actually took the day off. Hope to get in a few good runs the next few days and then see what happens in the half marathon. I think I'm going to run the Ogden Half instead of the full marathon.

good job with the work out. I think you have a good shot at winning this weekend. if Hobbie does not show!

Do I sense some doubt? Hey, it is a good goal to work toward isn't it.
