Happy 29th Birthday to me. I decided to give myself the gift of running a mile for every year so far... that will be 29 today. Not all at once however.

My gift to you is this great song and video. Take the time to watch it. You wont be disappointed.

13.7 mile run this morning. Shin was a little sore but nothing sharp like yesterday I'll just have to monitor it.

(Landreth 125 )

15.5 miles this afternoon in the wind. I had it all planned out on the distance so I'd be right on but I didn't plan for the short detor to a port-o-potty. So that put me over 29 on the day, not by much though. Nothing too glamorous to report. I didn't even hit the "Wall" at 27.

happy birthday, I like to run on my birthday but not 29 miles. But to each his own. I think my 29th year was my hardest becasue I spent the whole year dreading 30. But know that I am 30 it is no big deal. So enjoy 29!

Happy Birthday hon! Love you! Please don't kill yourself running today!

From jtshad on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 09:36:48

Interesting idea about the run a mile for my age...I, however, am NOT going to run 40 miles on my birthday this summer.

Happy Birthday and enjoy the miles today.

Happy Birthday! Enjoy your run.

Happy Birthday Clyde! Wasn't your birthday present to yourself last year running at Boston in the freezing cold? Hope you have a warmer birthday this year!

From Dustin on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 09:58:31

Good luck on the run and happy birthday!

From dave holt on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 10:08:19

Sorry buddy - no extra clues were needed! I had you figured out days ago! A little birdie told me!

Careful on those shins.

From Superfly on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 10:38:12

Dave I knew that was going to be the case. Bad little birdie.

From Wildbull on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 10:39:55

Happy birthday Clyde! Dude if i ran a mile for every year we are talking ulta marathon. Strong man stuff.

From dave holt on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 11:50:54

Bill, you might have to convert to K's if your counting years, or you might not make it through!

From Jon on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 13:24:40

Happy Birthday, man! Though I was hoping that you were only turning 28, so that I could have at least one summer where I would be in a different age category than you, Paul, James, etc.

Enjoy your day.

Shoot! This is why I should never act like I'm high tech, I sent you the wrong link. I mean the last one is OK if you're a Mavrick BB fan. This one is better (the one I meant to send)

Thanks everyone. It sure dose make it nice to blog along with running.

Jeff- I think you should do this on your B-day. 15 miles early in the morning like 4 a.m then 10 mid-day and 15 in the evening. You could pull it off. Just take work off and enjoy yourself... or not!

Christi- I'll have to admit that was pretty good.

From Superfly on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 19:01:45

Ally- Yes last year running Boston was my B-day present to myself. Today was warmer but ironically the wind was still blowing. I see a trend here.

From Lybi on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 22:23:49

Happy birthday, Clyde! 29 miles in one day! WOW. Wind, hmmmm. Maybe you should ask Mik'L for some chocolate-scented body wash. :)

From Superfly on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 22:45:48

Lybi- I forgot about that stuff. Thanks for the reminder. It smelled so good I almost tasted it.

Clyde, awesome, what a way to celebrate, 29 miles of reflection.

This gives me an idea for Salt Lake. I am turning 35 on April 21, two days later. I would hate to run 35 without a purpose on Monday, though. But if I do a warm-up, run the race, then go back to pace somebody if I feel good, and run with my kids later, I can get 35 for the day. Will do that if I feel good.

From Superfly on Thu, Apr 17, 2008 at 17:47:51

Sasha 35 is a lot of miles. I split mine into two runs on different sides of the day so I was fully recovered. But I'll cheer you on. I was going to make it a challenge for the rest of the bloggers to do the same. We'll see how many follow suit.
