Garmin lost signal due to the heavy overcast along the way around the 19th mile- so here is what I have and it could be off-
The race started off well after we took shelter in the school at the starting line and we stayed very warm and dry dispite what was going on outside. We were right up front just a couple rows back of where the elite guys were warming up so it was fun to watch the race start. Almost first thing we were passed by guys going out at like 5 min pace... bad news later for them. Tryed to run within myself even though I knew we were running the first part pretty fast and wonderd how it would hit us later. Felt great at the half and started thinking about trying to PR and run a 2:34 or 35. From 13 to 17 things went great and I was suprised at how good I felt. All the while we were hanging with a pack of about 15 guys trying to draft when we could. Then at 17 or so we had to drop them and try and stay in good position. Also at this point we start our battle with the hills. Last year they didn't seem to bother me and if the wind hadn't bee so bad I think I would have been sitting really good this year- however the combo kicked our butts! Pace went our the window and we just tryed to keep moving forward. From there it pounds us up past 21 or whenever the hills are finally over. Somewhere around 20 on a meaty hill Dave falls off my pace and I don't find out until around 22. From 20 on in I felt horrible and just tryed to hang of for dear life. Although the hills are gone the wind is not and I'm just sick of it. Legs really starting to feel done. I try and pick a few more stragglers off and make my way to the finish. Good thing because if 3 more guys beat me I'm our of the top 100. Kind of had that as a back of the mind goal going into the race.

17.6:19 The start of the hills and also the wind really strats to pound us. Still working together.
18.6:48 Hills and wind!
19.8:34 Around this time the garmin started going crazy so this could be off although the hills with the wind are almost stopping me in my tracks.
So I'm disappointed about the Garmin thing. I wanted to come check it all out. I'd really like to know my last 3 mile splits.
Really happy about the race. Two goals comming in- Run under 2:40 and finish in top 100. So I got a nice birthday present. I'm 28 today.
I feel that had this been in St. George in good conditions I could have been really close to 2:30. I think I could have finished the way I started. So we will see how things go this summer. Big thanks to Dave for being there. I had fun working together and couldn't have done it without his help.
After the race both of us spent about an hour in the med tent. I had a temp of 94 and he was down to 91. Both of us were struggling to walk and very close to hypothermia. Too cold for me. I guess I can move on and not come back to Boston unless someone is paying me to race it! Joke...
