I actually got up early today before hubby left for work to run!! Did an interval workout at the track. Did a 1600, 1200, 800, 800 with two minute jog in between each. My splits were 6:00 for the mile, 4:19 for the 1200, 2:49, and 2:45 for the 800s. I wanted to finish off with a speedy 400 but ran out of time. Anyway-I felt pretty good about my times and actually felt pretty relaxed running them. (intervals are way better and way easier to do on the track than the treadmill-end of story)

Did a 5.5 mile tempo run at the track today. Did it at the track so that I could run an even pace the whole time and get a feel for my goal race pace. My goal was to run them around 6:30 pace. Splits were 6:36 (took me a mile to get going), 6:32, 6:32, 6:30, 6:29 and last 800  was a 2:55. (I had alot in the tank left and know I could have ran at least another mile or two at 6:30 pace-but ran out of time.) Anyway-the average pace for the run was 6:28-so not too bad. Felt really good

Ran outside today (perfect temperature-but verrryy windy!!) My goal was to do a long run of 11 miles with 6 being pretty easy and finishing it off with 5 at tough tempo pace. Did a loop outside and ran the first 6 miles at 7:21 pace. (felt pretty comfortable) These are the splits for my 5 "fast" miles. 7:06 (major uphill) 6:30 (downhill) then I ran the last 2.5 at the track for a super fast finish. miles 9, 10 and 11 were 6:27, 6:35 and 6:20. (average pace for the 5 fast miles was 6:35) I was pretty tired by the last mile-but I felt strong and relaxed too-felt good about this one-especially considering the wind)
