| PM - 6.5 very slow and easy miles mostly on the golf course. Cool and rainy day. I have a pretty good sore throat brewing up a decent head cold - I am sure. Heading down to Florida later today for a wedding of some friends.

| AM - this is actually Thursday's entry and Friday's was yesterday. 6 miles at a decent pace along the Embarcadero in SF again ahead of work meeting before heading back home this evening.

PM - 5.5 miles after work on the golf course. Plantar fasciitis / heel has been really painful lately. Still not feeling well either. Made for a less than stellar run.

| PM - had plans to do a long run early this morning but storms changed my mind. Tried late in the day to get some marathon paced miles in on the treadmill- the good news was my HR at MP was ideal for about 3 miles - the unfortunate news was the PF pain was quite sharp today - making me fear a that I could tear it - so I bagged the rest of the effort and did some indoor rowing. Spent the next few hours reading about different diy remedies for PF.

| PM - got in 8 miles on a pleasant fall afternoon. First 5 miles PF pain was about a 6.5 or 7; then it subsided to about a 2 or 3 on a scale of 10. Better than yesterday.

| AM - around 3.5 easy miles in the dark in some thick fog on the golf course this morning. Literally could not see but 10 feet or so in front of me. If I wasn't so familiar with the course and terrain - it may have been a bit scary.

| PM - lunchtime - 7 miles with a bit more effort than easy pace. Was going over in my mind what may be the cause of the PF issues - (e.g. what am I doing differently, what am I not doing which I was doing before) and what I realized is that I had been routinely using a foam roller on both upper and lower legs after my runs - fairly consistently until the last couple of months - which is when the PF seems to have emerged. So, I started foam rolling again yesterday and though it may be coincidental, I have significantly less discomfort in the left heel than before. Could be that my calve muscles were just that tight and pulling on the plantar fascia. Anyway, gonna resume the foam rolling for all its worth.

| PM - 6 miles at a decent pace with some hills on a cool afternoon - low 60's - really nice outside. Foot was probably about a 3 or 4 on pain level. Only half as bad as last week.

| AM - hotel gym in Morristown NJ - here on business. Continued efforts to give the foot a rest before this weekend - I did some indoor rowing - and then on the AMT - (adaptive motion trainer) kinda like an eliptical - I did the equivalent of 2 x 1 mile at MP effort using the HRM. No pounding on the foot - though some downward pressure - felt like a good alternative/cross train effort.
