Personal:

I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again.

AM- This morning we had cross-country practice at Sugar House Park. We started there and ran up to 2100 s. to 1700 e., then 1700 e. to Hillcrest, Hillcrest to imperial, imperial to alden, alden to atkin, atkin to crandall, crandall to zenith, zenith to imperial, imperial to 3300 s., 3300 s. to the cemetary, then a loop in the cemetary, then 3300 and milbourne to 2700 s., 2700 s. to 1700 e, 1700 e to 2100 s, and back to the park. It ended up being 7 miles. I ran it in 56:51 which is 8:07 pace. It felt really good, I ran with Emily Jameson while she pushed her baby in the stroller. I think I'm doing the same thing again tonight but I don't know for sure. (Pegasus 101)

PM- At our evening cross-country practice we only had a few people so we decided to go up to Millcreek and run on pipeline. We started at Burch's Hollow and ran to the overlook and back. Then I added a little bit on the road to make it 10 miles. My time was 1:28.19, which is the fastest I've ever done it. It felt good, really relaxed. I was feeling sick, so I couldn't push as hard as I wanted to. My legs didn't hurt at all or feel tired, so that's good.(Pegasus 111)

AM- We met this morning at the JCC to run dry creek. We went 25 minutes out and then I came back in 15:10, for a total time of 40:10. My legs were fine, a little bit tired on the way up but coming down they felt fine. I'm guessing it was about 4.5 miles but I'm not exactly sure. (Pegasus 115)

PM- Ran at Sugar House Park. I just did a little bit of running here and there, and Demetrio wanted me to do a 400 so I did, and my time was 1:19. My legs are tired. (Pegasus 118)

AM- Cross-country practice, we met at Cottonwood Complex. We did a loop around the block for our warm-up, and then 5 hill repeats, that were about 600 meters. My times were 2:20, 2:08, 2:13, 2:08, 2:06. They all felt good, and my legs didn't hurt too bad but I could tell they were tired on the hills. Then we did a cool down in the park. It ended up being about 5 miles. (Pegasus 123)

PM- Tonight we met at Sugar House park. We ran out on 1500 e. a little bit and then came back. I was tired so I only went a mile out and came back. My time was 15:40. After that I went to the track and did some hurdle stuff. Tomorrow I have state steeplechase. As far as I know I'm the only one in the race so it won't be much of a race more of a practice.(Pegasus 125)

AM- Ran from Sunnyside Park to 1900 e., 1900 e. to 1700 s., 1700 s. to 1500 e., 1500 e. to the gully and the gully back to the park. Then I did two strides. My legs are exhausted, but other than that it felt fine.(Pegasus 130)

Afternoon- Ran the 2000m steeplechase today. They didn't have a water jump though because the only barrier they had was 6 inches too high, and we jumped over hurdles instead of barriers. I don't think it made a huge difference. Obviously my time would have been slower with the water but I'm guessing by only 5 seconds or so a lap. Maybe less because we didn't cut in. My time was 8:34. It was 101 degrees. I felt good, I think I could have went faster. My legs were fine, they didn't seem tired at all. The four hour nap I took today probably helped.

PM- I started at Ruth's Diner up emmigration canyon. I ran down the road to Wasatch dr. Then I ran on wasatch for about a mile and came back to the dog park at the mouth of the canyon. It was 4 miles and it took me 31:00, 7:45 pace. It felt fine, my legs weren't tired except for on the uphill. Tomorrow I'm running in the 3000m at state. (Pegasus 134)

AM- We met at liberty park today. We did one lap slow for our warm-up, then a half-mile hard (3:25), a half mile easy, and another half-mile hard (3:21). Then we did another lap slow for our cooldown. My total time was 38:22, 8:30 pace. My legs are very very tired. (Pegasus 139)

PM-Ran the 3000m, just took it easy because I was the only one in my age group and it was 103 degrees. My time was 12:31. My splits were 1:37, 1:44, 1:43, 1:40, 1:38, 51 (200m), 1:43, 1:33. It felt good, It didn't seem hard so I think I'm in better shape now than I was in track season.

Ran the 1500, my legs were tired. My total time was 5:51. My splits were 1:30, 1:36, 1:34, and 1:09. Mentally I wasn't really ready for the race, I was only concerned with qualifying and since I was the only one in the race I didn't have much of a reason to push. Then I did the 800 in 2:51, my splits were 1:25 and 1:25. It was over 100 degrees. I kicked to try and catch a girl, I passed her but then she picked it up and passed me by about .20 of a second.
