Running Accomplishments:

Pre-highschool: I loved to run and ran a few small local 5k's, but I did not run much on my own, besides junior high track.

Freshman year: I ran cross country and traied wih the team most of the summer.  When the season started I ran 3 races including Murray Invitational.  I got a huge PR there but after the race my foot hurt and I had a hard time walking. I ran on it for the next week but it was not getting better, so I went to a Sports MD and found out that i had a stress fracture.  Becaue of that injury I missed the rest of the season. Then I ran track for my junior high but did not do extremely well.

Sophmore year: I trained hard over the summer and I got a 3 minute PR on my first race.  I continued to PR, and had a good, injury free season. I ran indoor track an had some good PRs. I ran at simplot and had a great time. I did track and  ran some goodtimes and cut my time down by 15 seconds, I was hoping that I could get low 5's in the mile, but I had fun and was able to race at the steepechase and have a fun time through out the season. At sophmore region I was able to PR in the 800 and I missed my PR in the mile by 2 seconds.

Junior year: I ran a little over 500 miles over the summer, but wasn't improving how I would have liked over the season. I was not consistant at all and was sick for aboout 3 races. I finally had a good race at region and dropped a 46 second pr. Track went well, I went sub-5 in the mile finally and got a PR in the 2 mile pretty easily. I didn't really hit the times I had hoped for throughout the season due to sickness and I just wasn't in it.

The day is finally here. Me and gavin did a mile and a half warmup and then went to the starting line. The race started fast and It was good to know the course and race from last year. I didn't get a great start and got boxed in, tripped and pushed around pretty bad within the first 100 yards. After that the race sperad out and I was able to get up to my pace and make some passes. My first mile was a 5:41 and it was the flattest part of the course. Right after mile one the hills start and I was able to make some more passes. When I came out of that section of the course at about 1.5 miles I thought I was in the hundreds, but Chili yelled that I was in 65th!!! I couldn't belive it and pushed even harder knowing that the rest of the courst is all up and down hill, and that I always run on hills. I knew that this was my time to make a ton of passes. When we came out of the hills with half a mile left Marc yelled that I was in 45th!!! I mad 20 passes in a single mile! I knew that the top 48 metal and I wanted it so I took off. The to kids behind me also heard mark and tried to pick it up and pass me. I made 4 more passes on the way to the way to the finish and got outkicked at the end by 3 other people. I ended in 44th and was given the first metal I have ever gotten. It was fantastic! Gavin had a great race also and ran somewhere around 17:40. After I cooled down and then sprinted around the course cheering for Talon and McKenna who both made it to Nationals!! Talon took 3rd and McKennaa took 9th. Im very proud of them. Out of everyone in the race I took 537th out of over 1000. My splits were 5:41, 6:15, and 6:02.
