PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

2:15:05. Remember what I said about getting a little faster?  felt the same as last week, but somehow was nearly 2 mins faster -- I think I am just feeling better this week in general.

Happy Sunday bloggers!

AM: (10.5, 1:34:45).  ~25wu/36cd 15 x :45 w/1:30 recovery.  It is a hard workout when you start out too fast ;-).  Luckily, the weather was perfect, and I still managed to get the last 2 miles uphill to my house!  My legs were a little tired though, I think I ran a little harder than I thought last weekend.  All is good though, the training is beginning!!

PM: easy 4.

I hope you are all doing well ... it is beautiful here -- 30F in the AM and highs in the 60s, who could ask for more - well, more light would be good, but with the added daylight comes heat, so I guess I am ok with just as things are!!

Stephanie Rothstein ran a solid 2:32 in the Honolulu marathon on Sunday, good enough for 3rd.  Apparently it was hot and humid, so she is happy ... and at least it wasnt the deluge of CIM the weekend before!!

Recovery run ... fed Dover some carrots, went into the university for some meetings and to pack up my office (some more, I have been doing a little bit every day).

AM: (8 miles, 1:05:34)  10 x 1` hill repeats.  ouch.

PM: easy 4 miles with my co-worker Bob.  He runs too  hard, he two-steps me (meaning he always is running in front of me), as he huffed and puffed, I finally told him, "you are running too hard, I keep trying to slow you down but you won't".  He slowed down for a little while and then started doing it again ... it must be a guy thing  ;-).   The good news was we got out early enough for it to be light out, and the run is pretty good, uphill for 2 miles, then downhill for 2 miles!!

Happy Thursday bloggers!

1:08:56. I was only planning on 7 miles but I dropped my gloves and had to go back for them.  I am writing this report with new toy - a Nexus 10 tablet.  I really am a Google geek!

Happy Friday bloggers !

AM: 8 miles 1:12:45 (probably a long 8 :-) )

PM: easy 4

Pretty tired today, and we have go schmooze at a work Christmas party!  It has been raining all day ... A good day to lay around between runs.

I am very sad about the Connecticut shootings, I have been pretty heavy-hearted.
