PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

Yippee, a 'long' run :-)

Actually, I will be running two days in row (tomorrow too).  My legs feel really good, my back ... Not so good.  I am both happy to have some extra time and completely unsure how to use said time :-)

Happy Sunday, bloggers!

Stupendeously beautiful day -- a wopping 32 mins of running!

The only thing keeping me from freaking out -- primarily about the weight I feel I am gaining -- is that Bernard Lagat takes a month off every year, and does not run a step.  He says he gains 10 lbs, and is happy to do it.  It is true that he could gain 10 lbs and still look emaciated, but still -- he comes back stronger than ever after he does it ... so, I am just recovering ... and pretty secure that I can come back refreshed and ready to start over training (for something) again!

I hope you are all doing well bloggers -- I am sending lots of taper thoughts (positive ones) for those of you getting ready for Ogden!!  FRB FRB!!

OK!  Now we are cooking with gas! For some reason 5 miles finally feels like "a run" ... It is hard to take such a long recovery cycle ... But I won't lie, it is taking a little time to recover ... I am having some fatigue issues that I think will make it a tiniest bit of time to rehab.  It is primarily to do with the radiation, and physiologic stuff from last year - it just makes recovery a bit of a challenge.  The good news is that I *know* I will be running strong again soon! I am making race plans and everything!! For now, I am enjoying the last of the below 100F weeks, in a very short amount of time we will be staring at months of an oven ... For now, I am loving "spring" ...

Happy weekend bloggers!
