PR's

5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

my AM runs are zippidity doodah.  That is probably because I am not doing any speedwork yet.

I see my doctor in a couple of weeks, I have some follow-up tests - and I need to be "cleared" to train -- and then I will start training.

My goal is a 50K in February!  whoohoo!  http://pembertontrail50k.blogspot.com/

somewhere between 13 and 14.  Up or down the whole run, a little asphalt, a little dirt, a little trail.  It was the most beautiful morning to run, seriously, beautiful!  My door is always open for you guys to come and stay and run with me!

Just as I come back home to my fastrunningblog home, I am going to be sporatic again -- I will be traveling the next couple weeks - a lot.

Tuesday: day trip to SF

Thursday - Saturday: Rochester, MN (brrrrr)

Next week Thursday - Monday:  DC, and home via Indianapolis (brrrrr and zzzzz for time change!)

easy (well, uphill but slow) run, because of my travel schedule this week my mileage will be low, but I am rescheduling the best I can :)

AM: 4 easy before a very early meeting -- I am very tired from my quick turn-around trip yesterday -- and then today I have 4 hour meeting, and needed to prepare my talk long into the flight last night.

PM: easy 6 - ran as far as I could before night fell, and my achy body made me stop :)  - traveling all day tomorrow too, so likely no running.

AM: easy 6 on the bike trail in Rochester, MN.  It was chilly, but not bad -- I loved it actually.

PM: Yea, able to squeeze in a short run!

drove from Rochester to Minneapolis after our meeting was over, then out for quick dinner, and drove to the airport to drop of the rental car (my brother is picking me up tomorrow AM, and I did not want to be saddled with trying to drop off the car)

I am the luckiest runner in the world.  I picked the best hotel -- close to the airport, and yet right across the street from the Minnesota Wildlife Refuge -- yes my fastrunningblog friends, that means that I had a beautiful, albeit a little "flat" compared to my usual, trail run this morning! yea!  45F (a little drizzly) - not too many rocks, dirt, on the river .. it was wonderful!

Getting sick.... Saw the doctor yesterday, told me to stop methotrexate for the week because of my side effects.  He put me on folinic acid ... Precursor to folic acid, he said this should help me with my hair loss and mouth sores.  The cold is just an added benefit :-)

Skipped my PM run ... I want to beat this cold!!  I don't have any WBCs so I want to be careful.  Good news?  My blood work is much much better than before I started treatment, and my liver is holding up well!

I had to cancel my trip to DC (work), and trip with Dean to see his Mom ... I didn't want to infect the world, and get sicker ... Sad, but I think I made the right decision.

Still raining ... Well over 24 hours now.

I am meeting my boss today for a meeting, that is how bad our schedules are ... The only time we can find to meet is on the weekend!  We did meet at a coffee shop, so that is good!

I was just starting to feel a little better from my cold and Dean came home (at 11:30PM), and coughed all night!!  So, both of us were awake all night, and had to get up super early for work.  Glad it is a short week!

Happy running blggers !

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We are laying low, watching movies, and hanging out.  I hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving.

Tomorrow I am going to begin my trading for the 50k in February.  I am not sure how my back, knee and feet are going to hold up, but I thought I would ease into some trail running and add on some speedwork after my next set of xrays. I am excited!  And very thankful!

On the Yeatman trail, both harder and easier than I had remembered!

There were so many people out on the trail, LOVE to them enjoying a beautiful (65F) day outside rather than fighting over stuff in a mall!

Went and had dinner with our neighbors ... The ones with the escaped horses a month or so ago.  They had gotten some chickens a few months ago too, and the are getting ready to lay ... One of them ended being a rooster, I know this because I have heard him every morning for a couple weeks ... I love my neighborhood!
