10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM: (9 miles, 1:18:39).  Nice day, I went over to visit CoCo and Big Boy, fed them their carrots and took a leisurely jog home.

PM: easy 4.

I expected not to be able run this afternoon and tomorrow, so much so that I scheduled some very very early morning conference calls tomorrow!  But, I met my new breast surgeon and he wants to wait 3 weeks before the next set of biopsies.  He talked trash about my radiologist (kind of kidding here, but not really) - he doesn't think the biopsy that she took got any of the "right" tissue, and he says there are three areas that he wants to get to.  However, the previous biopsy (3 weeks ago) caused some tissue damage, and he wants to wait until some of the inflammation goes down before he goes "back in".   His way will use a larger bore needle and cover a larger area -- meaning be more invasive -- but he is hoping to avoid a surgical biopsy if possible.  Good-news-bad-news - the story of my life these days.  I am glad I avoided a biopsy today (good news) - but I had to reschedule for 3 weeks (bad news) - and this next one will be a doozy (I won't go into details, but there was "binding", "stitches", and "major bruising" discussed).

He also said, "take it easy on the running - I need this tissue to heal" - yea right buddy!  it is the only thing keeping me sane these days ;-).

Happy Thursday bloggers.

Keeping you in our prayers.

THINKING OF YOU!!! I wish I were running Ragnar this weekend because I would hunt you down and take you to lunch!

That next one does sound like a doozy, but hopefully it will come back with some good answers. Glad you got to enjoy a little run today.

From Bonnie on Thu, Feb 23, 2012 at 13:59:28 from 150.135.115.9

It is in October Kelli!! I can't believe it. I am still hoping to do a 50K for it! I have been thinking about Stump Jump in Tennessee, but I kind of like the look of Goblin Valley and Bizz Johnson too!

If you do Goblin Valley, I will come run it with you!!! I will be slow since it is so close to a marathon, but it is a beautiful course and not super hard or technical! You let me know...

How about your stomach? Is it feeling better? You gaining some weight back and feeling stronger yet?

Chattanooga is a very beautiful place, they have some great trail races there. I'm still waiting to go to Goblin Valley - I hear it's pretty cool.

Hi Andrea -- I am about 80% now! I have been eating much better. I have been trying to do some fast finish runs this week, and I am feeling well enough that I think I might start incorporating some light intensity next week - yea!

good new/bad news on that front too. I got to see my results from the pathologist - the good news is that my symptoms should be get better - he said it could take up to 4 more weeks to get to 100%. Bad news is that it is a chronic problem (the tissue showed damage that has been done over years, not weeks). So, even though I won't be on the high doses of meds I am on now, it is likely I will be taking this medicine forever. I dont think it will matter with respect to running though, so I am not that concerned.

That will teach to ask ;-) -- seriously, thank you for asking!
