Its been forever since I posted on here, I've been getting lazy and just going to the caf after running haha, but i'm starting up again. I ran into Coach Murphy at the starting line which was really cool! To give an idea of what shape i'm in I ran 17:08 at this race my senior year the week after running my pr 16:20 5k, so I could probably run under 16:00 on a fast course or track right now. Also it was a lot colder and it snowed a ton last night and it was clear and warmer last time. So I started out in 3rd behind a high schooler and another guy, the first mile and a half is all uphill but I worked my up to the front by the end of the first mile and mantained it until the last hill where a guy (I think daven) caught me and started gapping me. I wasn't feeling great and didn't want to go into oxygen debt so I let him go a little. When we got to the top and turned down I started feeling really good and picked it up, I'm assuming he did too because for the next mile I mostly just maintained the gap. With 1200m to go I started kicking up the only hill in the 2nd half of the course, I still wasn't getting much closer by the time we got to the top and started heading down the final half mile straightaway. I started my kick there because I knew I needed everything if I was going to catch this guy, I kept picking it up and caught him with about 200 left, he was still kicking pretty hard after I passed him so I turned it up another gear to make sure I stayed ahead. After the race I did 4 more miles 2.5 on the treadmill and ran 1.5 home. It felt good to finally win this one!

Ran with Coach Murphy and Kramer in the gully, it was fun and I felt good, the ground was frozen solid so it made for a unique gully experience haha. We went to einstiens afterwards, always great seeing those guys!
