| Had a real nice evening run, and cranked out 7 miles, I wore a reflective vest, but only the vest. Note to self: Don't do that again, it causes nipple chaffing. I also played capture the flag for FHE for a solid hour and a half, and I'm counting that as a mile.

| It was really hard to get out on this run, but I did, and it was a hot sweaty one. I also took a nice moment at the turn around point to just stop and think, it was really refreshing and good for my soul

| 6x800 meter workout. I did well, all of my times were under 2:34 except for the first one I was a little slow, just getting into the groove I guess. I'm excited for the race this weekend!

| What a great race!! I was pumped to hit my goal time, I feel like I'm right on track for my marathon goal, this was a very encouraging sign. Lots of work still to do, but the goal feels a lot more possible now. I started out strong and smooth, and pretty relaxed. The first mile was a little slow at 5:50 pace, but the next mile picked up quite a bit, and mile 3 was a 5:10. From there I was pretty consistantly under 5:30 until the last 2 or 3 miles, at that point I was just fighting to stay under 5:40, and just finish the race strong. I took 5th place, which was great because I won $100. I really wanted to beat Golden, but he got me by about a minute. The good thing is that he's also doing the St. George Marathon, so I'll have a chance to beat him there as well. I'm super sore, but it's totally worth it.

| beginning the recovery process. My calves are super tight, but that's ok, I'm just easing back into things. I was also blessed because Glen Harris let me borrow a recover system that has helped a ton!

| I tried out the Instinct 4.5, really liked them, and they're a sample pair, so I think I'm going to keep them! I've realized how much the visual appearance of a shoe affects my perception of them haha.

| Another nice afternoon run at work. I wore the compression sleeves, and it helped a lot with the soreness in my calves, so that was great. I'm really considering wearing sleeves for the marathon, I think it could be helpful. I'll be testing them out a little more in the future!

| Good elevation training today with Sam. Ran to the top of Brian head peak, then back to the condo, super awesome run! That afternoon we went to the shakespeare festival and watched the foreigner, 10/10 would recommend, it was absolutely hilarious!!

| Good workout today, 10x3 min repeats at 5:30-5:40. The repeats felt really good, really smooth, the last couple I felt like I was about to puke, but I didn't, so that was good. I think it's good to train with that sensation because it's almost guaranteed that I'll feel like that on race day. The shoes I wore, the escalante racers, felt great. I'm not sure if I should wear those or the vanish, I keep going back and forth

| A couple of good solid runs today, it felt good, I'm feeling strong and confident, and happy with the training so far. I'm going to start working up the mileage a little bit by running a little longer at work, so that should be good

| 4 mile tempo run. I am honestly not too pleased with the time and how it turned out, I couldn't get any of the miles sub 5:50, but that's ok. I was hurting a little bit, and I'm proud of myself for finishing strong and toughing it out. I guess that's the silver lining

| I enjoyed running up to the top of Baldy this morning with Justin, one of the Altra tech reps. It was a pretty gnarly climb, about 2500 vertical feet in less than 2 miles. So needless to say, I'll be sore tomorrow, but It was a great workout, and very satisfying.
