It was really tough for me to get up today, and I got to practice a litle late, so I spent most of the first half of the run catching up. It was a good run, but man, those guys can be loud sometime. haha. It's all good, looking forward to a good run tomorrow.

Good workout today with da boiz. Just ran laps on the grass at the little valley park, 5 minutes at 6:15, 5 at 6, 5 at 5:45. We nailed the paces, except the first 5 minutes were a little bit too fast.

Family 5k race day. I ran the 3.2 mile course in 19:49. Pretty slow, but there were several factors, such as lack of competition (Johnny didn't run), altitude, big ol' hills, and lack of sleep. That being said, it was a fun race, and a good push. If I were to run that same course again, I would definitely start out a little slower. Then ran 3 miles with Anna and Matthew after the race. Love my family!

Day two of traveling to England and getting settled in Cambridge. Lots of walking, that's where the mileage came from.

Good first run in England. I did a lot of exploring, and enjoyed that! It was kinda hard to find just one road or one spot to run on, I'll need to do some more research to figure out a good place to do my long runs at. Running at low elevation feels nice though.

Found a good trail by the river. This run felt kinda agitated though, I think I was going to fast for an easy run, but I felt like I had the crunch of trying to get done quick and get enough mileage as well. I just need to relax and make sure I enjoy running, because if I don't have that, what's the point? Obviously not every second running is like a gigantic thrill. My right knee also started feeling weird, but the sensation faded. Gotta make sure to take care of that patella.

3 miles with Christina (an awesome girl from Illinois) then 3 on my own. I found a grass track, which I find to be both an awesome and weird and impractical thing.

Good speed workout today, with some fartleks thrown in there 5.4.3.2.1 descending pattern, pace was 5:40 or below, so that was good.

Fun run out along the river, the trail kept going even after 6 miles, so I will definitely make that my long run spot. Wish I had someone to do these long runs with, but it's all good. Got up really early, which was tough because I also went to bed a little be late after staying up dancing at the club. The rest of the day was spend visiting the Cathedral at Ely, and after that, I wasn't too productive, which is always frustrating. Better things to come!

Ran with Christina for about 4 miles, then did 3 more. Unfortunately her knee has been banged up a little bit. Wish there was some way that I could help her... alas, injuries suck, no other way to say it.

Really good tempo run today, made my way out towards grantchester along the road, which I didn't know how to do, guess I just discovered it today haha. Very pretty run, and the tempo run went really well. Some miles were a little fast, some a little slow, but it all felt very smooth and controlled, and I did the whole 6 miles in almost exactly 36 minutes. Felt like a boss. Good workout, just got to keep staying in shape and moving forward.

Chill run out to grantchester, tried to fin the loop, but wasn't able to. Also, I didn't run Saturday, cause we went to Edinburgh, I got there too late and there just wasn't time or energy. But, between Saturday and Sunday, I walked at least 12 miles I would say.

Found the Grandchester loop! It was awesome, just a touch less than 6 miles, but there are a couple little add ons that will fix that.

Ran 2 miles with Christina, and her knee wasn't hurting too bad, so that was good. Afterwards, I ran another 5.2, and found this sweet trail! I definately need to go back and explor it more

Side note, barely avoided pooping my pants. I wasn't sure what do do, cause I wasn't on a trail in the mountains, and didn't instinctively know any local businesses that I could go to to use the restroom... I'll have to figure all that out, in case there are any other close calls

Did a nice run out exploring the paths I found yesterday. They seem very promising, and I think it could be really fun to run some more over there. I also found a real, full size non grass track. The workout was a fartlek workout, 30s fast 30s normal. Good workout, and I was suuuuuuuper sweaty. It's getting toasty here in England

4 mile tempo run on the track. It was a great workout, held it just under 6 min pace the whole time, and finished with a time of 23:34, so I was pretty happy about that. There was a nice headwind on part of the track, and it was hard to work through mentally, but I kept the pace up the whole time. One thing I've never been able to figure out is why my watches have always been so off on the track. I think that maybe it measures the metric mile? That would make sense for why it says I hit a mile so much earlier. It's so weird, but I'm not really concerned about it, because during races and stuff, it's always like spot on. Just one of those mysteries of the universe I guess.
