| | Am- Today will be my first day back on the blog in two and a half years. I have run here and there since then and am now re-commiting myself to what I know will keep me happy and motivated in my life. Running.
Pm- I ran around Draper in a loop starting in Fort St. I felt pretty good until I hit an uphill. Ok, it was an incline of like maybe 2% it was nothing, but since I haven’t been training it was taxing. I ended up walking about three quarters of a mile then ran home. I was pretty tired, but so happy to be back in it. It was a happy day. I finished with 15 push-ups and 30 sit-ups.

| | It was a pretty good run. I just ran around campus and enjoyed saying hi to people as they walked to there first classes. About half the run was uphill the other half flat and downhill. I ended with 20 push-ups and 30 sit-ups.

| | Nice 3 miles around Rexburg. About mile 2.5 that’s when I started feeling it. That’s an improvement! I ended with 4 striders, 20 push-ups and 30 crunches. I’m starting to feel a lot better and looking forward to training each day. As long as I can stay on my sleep schedule I should feel better and better as time goes on.

| | It was around 3miles I believe. I’m not sure since I didn’t take my gps watch with me, but it was a similar route to a couple days ago with a little extra added on top of it. I ran through downtown Rexburg then wrapped back toward campus up the hill towards the temple and down back to my apartment. My hip started to bug me on the down hill so I toned it down. I finished with 2 striders, 20 push-ups and 30 crunches. I’m feeling a lot more healthy and have noticed I have more energy since restarting my training. I’m really enjoying it!

| | I have been sick today, ate some spicy food... it was no bueno.
I decided to go run 3.1 miles with my roommate in the dark. It was a good stress relief run for both of us. I ended with 25 push-ups. Still feeling sick by the end, but i made it through.

| | I did a harder workout on the track today. It was exhausting, but I know it will pay off.
I warmed up for mile and a half then then a 400, 800, and 1200 at 5k goal pace. I was planning on doing a 1600 after the 1200, but I was dead so I told myself if i hit the 1200 right then i would do this workout again in a few weeks with the 1600 added to it.
So my goal is 18:00 for a 3 mile. That ends up being 90s per 400. The 400 was easy to recover from with a 3 minute rest. I ran it in 87s. Rested 3 mins. The 800 was in 2:56. Rested 3 mins. The. I ran the 1200 in 4:26. They were all just a bit faster than 6:00 minute pace.
I ended by walking a lap, doing 20 push-ups and 30 crunches then cooling down with 3 laps on the track it was tough and I didn’t finish the extra mile, but I’m happy that I’m getting some fast-ER running in.

Brittany’s 5k (3.1 Miles) 00:22:22, Place overall: 1 | | Couldn’t sleep the night before, So it was an interesting race. There were probably only 20 or 30 runners just because it was a small charity 5K in memory of one of my friends who passed away three years ago while a erving her mission in Argentina. Overall it was a fun race even though I didn’t hit a great time.

| | I went on a warm run at about 6pm. I ran down towards maverick then on Main Street to the other side of campus up the hill on the east side and down to my apartment. It was good run. I’m learning how to run long even when I’m tired. I ran the hill pretty hard and I felt good afterward. I finished with 50 push-ups.

| | 1 mile plus 4 stadiums. I drove 3 hours down to Bear Lake and went wake boarding for the first time since before my mission in 2015. It was a blast but I was exhausted afterward! I decided I had it in me to slalom ski so I tried it and I got up first try! Some things never leave you, they are just in your blood.

| | I did one loop around campus and was going for a second when I got just past the Rexburg temple I was struggling so I cut through campus back home. It felt really good, I’m getting more into distance, instead of being a wimp and calling it good at 3 miles.

| | Had a nice run through the neighborhoods just west of campus. Ran past the airport and saw a couple planes landing so that was cool! Towards the end of my run the girl I’ve been tying to date drove by rolled down the window and said hi. Of course it’s her birthday today and I happened to run past a garden and stole a nice looking daisy. I ran to her apartment and gave it to her. I guess I found a nice perk of being a runner. 😂

| | I ran on a relay team in the Temple2Temple relay. It was a 37 mile relay race from the Rexburg Idaho LDS Temple to the LDS Temple in Idaho Falls. I ran the longest leg it was about 7.3 miles. I ran it in 57:30. There was some decent long but gradual uphills so it was a bit tough. My team wasn’t that fast, I think we took last, but it was fun anyway.

I’m honestly struggling to train to get faster by myself. I haven’t been able to find a running partner and I kinda just go out and run. I need to figure it out quick for the Transplant Games in Salt Lake on August 4th. I have 7 weeks to train.

Main Street Mile (1 Miles) 00:05:26, Place overall: 20 | | 5 dollar race in Rexburg I thought why not!? I ran a 5:26 supposedly but I’m pretty sure it was a bit short. That’s what every felt like with there times it was a straightaway with 1 turn so that might have also been why it was quicker than normal. Up until just after the turn I stayed with a girl that runs or ran for Auburn in college but by 6/10 of the mile I was juiced so I dropped about 10 places the next 4/10, more like 3.5/10 of the mile. It was fun, there was quite the crowd kind of like the Deseret News 5k, 10k, Half and Marathon. My friends came and cheered me on and we watched he parade afterward. Later we went and floated the river, Warm Slough, had a BBQ and drove to Menan to watch the firework show there. Great 4th of July.

| | I tan to the track on campus and put in 3 miles. Every other lap I included a flying 40. After 12 laps I ran a 400 in 74 and a second one in 80 after a 100 meter walk. I was BEAT after the second one so I stretched and ran home. Long run tomorrow.
