I ran in south Ogden this evening. I decided to do a workout and run the south Ogden 5k course as a tempo run. Before I started running the wind kicked up and a storm was headed my way. So I knew it wasn't going to be easy to run at a decent pace plus the course I picked had a couple steep hills. I did 1.5 mile warm up, I didn't have much time, my sister in law was watching my kids. I started my workout into the wind and uphill. My legs felt fatigued the whole time. I only got my last mile split because my watch was acting screwy. The last mile is the easiest one on that course and I was 6:46. I think my average pace for the course was 7:25 so I definitely struggled up the hills. But my AP was faster then the race I ran a month ago on that course, so that's a positive to take away. Today was a reminder about how far out of shape I am. 1 mile cool down. 3 mile tempo time: 22:15 |
