Happily cruising at 10 degrees on the CPM. I guess everything went well with my surgery yesterday. I was really afraid that they were going to go in and find the joint totally messed up, but the cartilage and the FAI repair I had last year looks great. The only problem was the super lax ligaments and they were shortened with what looks like climbing rope. Since my joint was so loose and easily dislocated, my doc thinks all of my hip and knee issues were related to that. My hip flexor, quad, IT band were all trying to do the job of the ligaments to hold my hip in place and they haven't been doing that great a job.
I don't remember having so much pain with the last surgery. I had a really rough time post-op so they gave me a nerve block and I still have no sensation in my quad, which is kind of creepy. A huge thanks to my friends Nancy and Elliott for being there during my surgery and for Andrea and Jake for letting me crash at their house. More specifically thanks to Jake for offering me the healing powers of his wolf blanket and to Andrea for making me eat and take drugs. I seriously have the bestest friends in the world.
