Well I took 7 days off of running and the hip pain is now worse when I run. Tried to go out for 2 miles and every time I landed on the left the pain in the hip just shot everywhere. Really starting to think this isn't some muscle issue because it doesn't loosen up with activity. It has been 3 weeks now and $500+ spent at the chiropractor... time to make an appointment with a "real" doc.

I am so sad :( In the past year I have had to deal much loss and so many changes and running has been my constant. I quite simply love it and it makes me happy. Now that I can't do it I feel like I am falling apart... complete meltdown imminent.

Active Release Techniques ART fixed me up... Bryce back me up on this.... I can't afford you to have a meltdown.. Who's going to pick me up off the side of the trail...

Wow, that really sucks! Sorry to hear about it. Wishing you the best. Hope you can get back out on the trails soon.

Too bad about the hip...Sorry, I know how it is to need running like that, really hope it resolves quickly.

I totally second the referral O is giving. Aaron Kennard on the blog suggested ART to me when I was injured last spring and I thought ya, ya whatever, but tried it and it totally worked. Really can't say enough good about Sean at Active. He pretty much saved my season last year and fixed me up a few times this year too when things start to go haywire. I have referred several runners to him and everyone of them have had their issues resolved in a couple of appointments. A friend of mine was injured with a hip issue this spring, had missed two races, had been to a Chiro several times and a Ortopedic/Sports Med doc that just wanted him to do really spendy physical therapy, and still nothing. Two times with Sean and he was 100%. It hurts like hell, but it works!! Pretty reasonable too at $40.00. Good luck with it all.

Thanks for the advice guys! May need to call him up after I figure out the best way to approach this torn labrum thingy.
