Second half marathon I've ever done and way harder than last week's 50K because I was freaking wiped and some girl was on my ass at the turnaround and I really needed some gold coins! Tried to run a moderate-ish pace the first half and then picked up the pace the second half. Fritz met met with about a mile and a half to go and I was freaking out afraid I was going to get passed, because how lame would it be to lead a race for 12.8 miles and then get passed and I'm not even very competitive. I just needed the money to pay for my last minute flight to Wisconsin since my grandmother died yesterday :) The only thing that kept me moving through the race was imaging her and gramps (born on the 4th of July) cheering me on from the sidelines with their American flags :) Love them both so much.
