Chill day in the mountains...

AM: 6.5 miles on the Colorado Trail from Molas Pass. Most of the run/trudge was over 11,000 feet and I certainly felt it!

PM: 1 x 400 on the Silverton town track (elevation ~9,300 feet) and FIRST TRACK "WORKOUT" EVER. I just wanted to beat James' estimate of 97 seconds for my first 400 and I did it in 87 seconds, so yay! I thought I was going to hyperventilate after and my lungs burned for the next two hours but were eventually soothed by an icy cold Fat Tire. I am psyched for more TRACK work!

So much for easy days in mountains...

silverton -- the perfect place for your first track workout. way to destroy that 97 prediction!

Jake said with all that lack of air, we should actually be faster at 9 million feet?!?

I am going to join Elliott for a track workout next week so hopefully I will see you :) Come to Peruvian! Come to Peruvian!

i'm coming! i'm setting my watch alarm to ensure i leave the wedding on time. hopefully it won't go off at an inappropriate time.

The only inappropriate time for an alarm to go off is whatever time James' watch went off a thousand times on the first morning in the hut!
