Today the rest of the team went to the Olympic Oval, while I did my own run. I went from my house to 15th east, over to 9th south, up to 20th east, over to Ramona Ave, down to 17th east, over to 17th south, down to 16th east, up Emerson to 17th east, over to Harrison, down to 15th east, over to 17th south, and home along 14th east. It's confusing, but it worked for me.

We started at the school as usual. We ran along 13th east until 21st south, went down to 9th east, over to 13th south, and down to the drinking fountain on the southeast corner of Liberty Park. At that point, Dakota, Caden, and Patrick had caught up to me, and we ran a lap in the snow at Liberty, before heading up 9th south back to the school. I pushed up the hill harder than I had ever gone up it before, it felt great. When I got to the school, I ran around the school once for a full 6. It was pretty cold, but I'm glad I did it. We leave for Footlocker on Thursday!!!!

After school we met in the commons as usual. Bill wasn't going to come today, but he told us to do 6 miles. Well, Susannah, RJ, Taylor, and I were the only ones who actually did the run, which was to a point from the teacher parking lot to 11th ave and back. It wasn't too cold, thank goodness for gloves! We leave for Footlocker at 6am tomorrow!!!!!! :DD

We left at 6 this morning for California. We stopped in St. George for a 4 mile run. We ran out on the parkway, and I stayed close to Susannah, Natalie, and Gavin the whole run. Made it safely to California, we'll go check out the race course for Footlocker tomorrow morning.

We checked out the Footlocker race course today. We just did a walk through, only running down the hills and on flat parts. After we did that, we hurried to get our race packets and off to the beach. I ran around the beach along the water with Natalie and Susannah, we were running after a sea lion. And since I had ran down that part of the beach twice, I counted it as half a mile barefoot.

Today was Footlocker!! I got a pretty good start, Delaney, Maggie, Sarah, Stephie, and I started in a good spot so we wouldn't get boxed in. I got a great start, I went wide on the first lap of the corral to avoid getting boxed in, and I ran in about the middle of the road around it for the second loop. I stayed strong on the switchbacks; I didn't sprint up and I didn't jog so slow. At the top of the switchbacks I threw in a speed change, catching several people who had been weakened by the switchbacks. On the next downhill, I let myself go, watching my step and picking targets: AKA girls in neon. When I got to poop out hill, I looked up and used my arms. I passed a few people who went slow up the hill, when a coach at the side pointed to the 2 girls in front of me, "You're number 45 and 46, go!" I knew that top 48 get medals, so I used that next downhill as a trigger. I ran through a bush hanging over the fence, but it didn't slow me down at all. On the flat-ish part of that part of the coarse, I threw in a really long speed change until I got to the final hill. I pushed up it pretty hard, knowing that I would have an immediate downhill to propel me to the finish. I passed several people, and sprinted down the hill. At the turn, I knew the rest of the coarse was flat, so I went really fast. I passed everybody I had been running with at the point, and in the last 20 meters got outkicked for a final place from 32. I was the first from east in the Frosh/Soph, so that's what division I counted. I ran around cheering for a cooldown, and spent the rest of the night walking around Disneyland, but no waiting in lines because we had the ultimate fast pass. :)
